The Maternity and Early Childhood Foundation, Inc. (the Foundation) is pleased to announce that the Request for Proposals (RFP) for 2008-2009 is now available.    All applications are due to the Foundation’s office by 4:00 P.M. on Monday, May 12, 2008.  Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.The Foundation’s priorities are the following:

  • healthy birth outcomes; optimal child health and development; and
  • positive parent-child interactions and parenting practices. 

The Foundation’s Board has established funded outcomes within each of these priorities, which are fully described in the RFP.   The Foundation’s Board may consider applications for programs that are not within these funded outcomes but are consistent with the mission of the Foundation provided there is adequate justification as described in the RFP.  Failure to include either the Foundation’s funded outcomes or to provide adequate justification for an alternative outcome will deem the application incomplete and it will not be considered.  Applicants are also required to provide documentation to support their needs assessment, which is also more fully described in the RFP.  The RFP includes a list of websites that may be helpful in documenting need.

Please read the RFP carefully and follow all directions.  Failure to include all requested documentation may result in an application not being considered.  The deadline for submission of all applications is firm:  there will be no exceptions to this deadline.  Applications received after the deadline will not be reviewed.  If using overnight or Express Mail, please allow adequate time for timely delivery: applications received after the deadline because of delays by a mail carrier will not be considered.  Assuming an approved State Budget, decisions will be announced in early July.
